There are several substances which are used in this work. One of them is aluminum or wire made from zinc which is melted and then sprayed in layers onto the surface area. Small particles of liquid metal adhere to the surface of the container which builds up to form a protective layer. This coating is so strong that it can last up to thirty years or even longer given the correct treatment. This of course depends on how long the corrosive material is likely to be stored.

Of course, it goes without saying that any of this work is not for the amateur. There is absolutely no way that an amateur could just try this out in a safe manner and as well as the professionals who have many years of experience in the field.
